Introducing ... Policy 2419

 Regulations for the Education of Students with Exceptionalities
 Approved By State Board Effective May 16, 2007

The West Virginia Department Office of Special Programs has provided five video training sessions, (vodcasts) designed to assist you in understanding Policy 2419. Policy 2419 establishes the regulations for compliance with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act 2004 (IDEA 2004) and West Virginia State Code, Chapter 18, Article 20 regarding provision of services to students with exceptionalities. Final regulations to implement IDEA 2004 became effective October 13, 2006 and include procedural changes for programs and services. In addition to viewing the training videos you may also access an "Ask a Question Receive an Answer" document provided by the WVDE, Office of Special Programs and the Office of Assessment and Accountability.
